Bimbi Park

Bimbi Park offers a number of different accommodation styles including cabins, on-site vans, powered sites, safari-style tents and camping sites set in a sheltered manna gum woodland. Located near Cape Otway in an area of magnificent forests, spectacular coastline, beaches and secluded bays. It is sheltered among tall manna gums far away from the wearing noise of towns and traffic.

"In the local Aboriginal language, 'bimbi' means 'a place of many birds' and the park's bushland is alive with bird song. You'll hear Kookaburras, Rosellas, Magpies, Blue Wrens, Robins and the carolling Shrike-Thrush. "

Camp fires are permitted, however, during the summer months fires cannot be lit on total fire ban days. Bimbi Park supplies portable fire places and there is a modern amenities block with laundry facilities.

Bimbi Park also offers a unique attraction in its out door Theatre. Sit our amongst the stars with the wildlife and enjoy free feature films and shorts during the peak holiday periods.

Bush camp sites

Well away form the main campground and surrounded by thick native forest. These sites give you privacy and a real bush camping experience with the full use of our facilities.

Unpowered camp sites

Set amongst Coastal Gums surrounded by native wildlife such as koalas. Possums and over 70 varieties of birds. These sites are in the main campground close to all facilities.

Powered camp sites

Fully grasses sites surrounded by native wildlife such as Koalas. Possums and over 70 varieties of birds. These sites are in the main campground close to all facilities.

Our Vans

Our vans have all been fully renovated. They all have 1 double bed, some also have 1 single bed, new kitchens, proper heating and a verandah to sit under. Very well priced and comfortable.

bunk rooms

We have 2 types of bunk rooms. 1 type with 1 double and 3 singles (all bunks) and 1 type with 1 double and 7 singles (all bunks). All rooms have poper heating and mattresses. Situated opposite the new camp kitchen and close to the amenities block. Ideal for groups, families or couples.

Standard cabins

These cabins are ideal for a faily or just a couple wanting to get away. Full kitchen, lounge/dining room, two bedrooms that sleep 1 dounle, 3 singles (bunk beds) and proper heating. No ensuite but close to the amenities.

The Swamp

What a beauty. Ideal for the large family. It has a kitchen, lounge/dining room, 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and 1 with 4 single beds (2 bunks). Proper heating. No ensuite but very close to the amenities block.

Ensuit Cabins

Comfortable cabins with a full kitchen, lounge/dining room, two bedrooms 1 with a double bed, 1 with 2 single beds (bunk bed) and a full ensuite.

Delux Cabin

Our latest cabins have a full kitchen with a full size fridge, dishwasher, oven etc., lounge/dining room, LCD TV with Austar, 3 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed, 1 with 2 singles that can become a kingand the other with 2 singles (bunk beds), separate toilet and bathroom

Backpackers

Short walks and car trips take you to beaches and rock headlands where the great Southern Ocean roars onto the shore, or to small safe sandy bays and beaches where children can swim and play. There are lots of longer walks in the magnificent forests of Otway National Park.

You can fish from the rocks and beaches, go scuba diving or visit historic Cape Otway Lighthouse built in 1848 to guide seafarers through the hazardous waters of Bass Strait. While the climate of Cape Otway is temperate and pleasant through most of the year, its beautiful and dramatic coast has a formidable reputation. Fifty vessels have sunk on this stretch of coastline with the Schomberg, Loch Ard, Eric the Red and the Falls of Halladale being the better known of them.

Horse Riding

Bimbi Park is also a unique horse riding venue. Trail rides include some stupendous Otway scenery with rides on wild untouched beaches, along coastal cliff tops, through stunning bushland and to spectacular river lookouts. Rides are affordable and suitable for all age groups and levels of skill.
